This isn’t just a JDM legend; it’s a rolling tribute to Mazda’s dominance in the @imsa_racing GTU race class, and it’s wearing its original, 35-year-old battle uniform: a single-stage “Brilliant Black” finish.

Original paint is the soul of a classic car. It’s what makes it an irreplaceable asset, skyrocketing its value and desirability among true collectors.

But here’s the secret most people don’t know: single-stage paint is unforgiving. It’s thin, delicate, and has no protective clear coat. One miscalculation with a polisher—one degree too much heat, one second too long—and you burn through it. And when it’s gone, it’s gone forever. The history, the value, the originality… erased.

My good friend, the owner of L.A.’s incredible wine bar @cardinaleduvin , had a detailer’s worst nightmare happen in the trunk of his Macan.

We went deep with precision steam to completely sanitize the interior, vaporizing the sticky residue and permanently eliminating the champagne odor. While restoring the trunk, I uncovered this hidden gem – the collapsible spare tire. A true work of engineering art that most owners never get to see.

The first thing that I’m gonna tell you is that I use contacts. At home all the lights have to be turned on because it just helps me feel and see a lot better.

when I’m out working, I have an issue with glare. when I learned about this light and I saw its reviews and I saw how you could change the settings I saw how you could match it to the richness of the color of the car I knew I had to have it . not only was it gonna help me match the light to the color, but it was also going to clarify the way I saw things and as a detailer you need to be able to see as much detail as possible.

These lights are an investment into your business, but they make all the difference. this being industry standard for body shops. Made this a must have for me since I have a shop on Wheeels.😁

so it’s that time of the year 365 days since last time and we’re here to celebrate another birthday for you.

If you guys have seen my birthday post about my sister in the past. You know that she was my birthday present a week after my third birthday and in such a beautiful way God bless her because today the 13th is her birthday and as a present he gave her baby Joey whose birthday is tomorrow. She still got another birthday present with Charlie as well.

to my sister who bears the weight of the world on her shoulders every waking day, what would our family do without you? You have managed to not only take care of your relationship. Take care of your two babies help take care of me and your other overgrown baby brother, as well as both my parents.

I know you work hard even in your sleep and I know it’s not always easy but I promise that you will get repaid for everything. If I sound like a broken record, it’s because it’s true and it’s warranted every time you are my role model I want to be like you. I still have a long way to go, but I love you so much and I want you to know that I’m here for you every single minute of the day for the rest of your life.

so it’s that time of the year 365 days since last time and we’re here to celebrate another birthday for you.

If you guys have seen my birthday post about my sister in the past. You know that she was my birthday present a week after my third birthday and in such a beautiful way God bless her because today the 13th is her birthday and as a present he gave her baby Joey whose birthday is tomorrow. She still got another birthday present with Charlie as well.

to my sister who bears the weight of the world on her shoulders every waking day, what would our family do without you? You have managed to not only take care of your relationship. Take care of your two babies help take care of me and your other overgrown baby brother, as well as both my parents.

I know you work hard even in your sleep and I know it’s not always easy but I promise that you will get repaid for everything. If I sound like a broken record, it’s because it’s true and it’s warranted every time you are my role model I want to be like you. I still have a long way to go, but I love you so much and I want you to know that I’m here for you every single minute of the day for the rest of your life.

When I got the call from my friends wife the ceramic coating we were so nervous because this was going to be a surprise anniversary gift. We tried to set it for a date have him be out of the house , have me go and get it done before they got back but it didn’t work out.

This is an easy mistake that I made but that makes a huge difference when you teach someone about polishing.

When I started the first polisher I used was a #torqx . The reason I purchased was because of the price point. It helped me get the understanding of polishing.

When I was introduced to the #rupes #bigfoot it felt so much better in my hands and the power was instantly different. That difference is what could make or break your class.

Make sure that if you are teaching a class with the same polisher , you ask each detailer what they use at home and explain this concept to them.

Working on this #cybertruck was so much fun and it was the #foundationseriescybertruck and it had colored PPF , this was definitely a nice investment.

So here’s the thing, there are people that don’t understand the science behind washes as a mobile detailer… when I get a new client I ask about the vehicle , the paint (matte or gloss) then if there is any vinyl wrap or anything else … then as we speak I’m mathing in my head , do I use ph neutral soap , do I use a higher alkaline soap , do I use soap that is ceramic infused , do I use soap that has gloss in it .. that’s just the soap.

With a mobile detailer like myself we have to make sure that we have all these products on hand for any situation. I love science and I geek out on it so this is the fun part before the real fun.

If you have a cyber truck , or any other truck just know I love what I do, I love working on any vehicle because before anything else I had my own car club , which means I was a car guy before anything so Everytime I work on a car no matter what the make or model I feel like I’m prepping it for a show .

My process starts with the interior of the vehicle a good vacuum and wipe down , then we move to the exterior where I pre soak the vehicle , clay bar the exterior then wash the vehicle. Once that is done I proceed to polish or (correct ) the paint in one step , removing about 40-60% of imperfections. Now that the car is dialed in we seal it with a 24-36month GYEON CERAMIC COATING.

This amazing vehicle got the works for a luxury wash. One of the important things as a detailer when dealing with vehicles of this caliber is to notice every little single thing on the car specially on the interior of the vehicle. Thanks @bc.motorworx and #jay

The initial concern was dust in the vents…
If there is no air pushed through the vents when you use the AC in recirculating mode it will pic up all the dust that is in the cabin and introduce it back into the ac system.

Although you have filters that help with the AC you also have dust that gets caught in ever other part of the AC SYSTEM .

So in this case the steam cleaning comes in clutch no only for the interior of the vehicle but also for the vents.

Here is an amazing example of what a wash and wax can do for your vehicle.

A wash and wax or (also known as) a clay and seal. This uses a light clay service with either a paste wax or synthetic liquid wax that bonds to the paint on your vehicle giving it 3-4 months of protection.

What type of protection…, it helps repel water, dirt and industrial fall out (brake dust or road grime) , it helps repel stains that might other wise stick to the paint.

The protection is there so that there is a layer of protection where most cars don’t have it.

Wax is like putting lotion on your skin, it prevents the paint from drying out, it helps against the UV of the sun that are there REGARDLESS of the weather being cloudy or clear.

Not applying wax to your vehicle every 3-4 months are what cause the white spots on the paint of the cars you drive next to every day. Next time you drive by a car like that take the time to really look at the cracked clear coat turning white and flaking off in the wind as they drive by. Once the clear has broken off like that you invite a host of problems for the paint on your vehicle.

Don’t just get your car regularly washed every two weeks. The “spray wax” that you get at the drive through car washes might look nice that same day , but it only last a few days.

Back in 2001 I hadn’t even graduated mechanic school when @calstarmotors in Glendale hired me. I was so excited I went to go work for an amazing shop manager by the name of Elpidio and was paired up with 2 mentors, Adrian and Fernando. Adrian still works there and is a master tech and Fernando has his own independent Mercedes shop in Burbank called Ferdi Motors.

This was an amazing time working with them getting my foot in the door and just doing what I love. Now that I have my own business, I can continue working on all types of vehicles that bring back memories of when I started as a mechanic.

Being able to do this for him and his family is what I like most about transforming any vehicle. The before and after and in this case , the smile it brings , one of the many silver linings to come for him and his family.

Fact:
Smoke odors are notorious for lingering inside of a vehicle specially when the seats are cloth and not leather. The smell gets penetrated in the cushions , vents and even in the AC vent system.

Thanks to @bc.motorworx not only did he take care of the cabin and engine air filter, but an estimate was done on the full extent of the damage for the rest of the vehicle. When your friends are trustworthy , that’s a network that is always going to be there to help.
